Camara R. Epps

Camara R. Epps serves as the Executive Director of the Civic League of Greater New Brunswick, where she leads efforts to expand youth development, family wellness, and community engagement initiatives throughout Greater New Brunswick.
With more than 15 years of experience spanning nonprofit leadership, higher education, mental health, and global marketing, Camara brings a strategic and community-centered approach to leadership. Prior to joining the Civic League, she served as Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications at Rutgers University and previously held leadership roles at HBO, where she managed international marketing initiatives and strategic partnerships.
Camara is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) and a passionate advocate for youth empowerment, education, and mental health. She earned graduate degrees from New York University and her bachelor’s degree from Spelman College.

Alemah McMillian
Director of Youth and Community Programs

Alemah McMillian is a youth development leader, advocate, and community strategist dedicated to empowering historically underserved students and families through culturally responsive education, wellness, and leadership programming. As Director of Youth Leadership Programs at the Civic League of Greater New Brunswick, she leads impactful after-school, mentorship, and summer initiatives focused on leadership development, mental wellness, cultural identity, and academic success.
In addition to her leadership work, Alemah serves as a Child Development Specialist, supporting children and families through early intervention services. Her experience spans youth advocacy, program development, family engagement, and community partnerships designed to create meaningful and lasting impact.
Alemah holds a Master’s degree in Child Advocacy and Policy from Montclair State University, a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Rutgers University–New Brunswick, and an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Raritan Valley Community College.
